In addition to the red heart, the boutique Hotel
Ilio has received special recognition for its quality and price.
Elban hospitality has been given yet another prestigious
award. Gambero Rosso, the authoritative tourist guide that follows
strict criteria to select the best hotels and restaurants in Italy
every year, has selected the Hotel Ilio in Capo Sant'Andrea once
again. The 2004 edition of "Viaggiarbene", the vade mecum
for those who plan their holiday intelligently, or rather - as the
subtitle says - for inquisitive tourists with a good appetite, names
it as one of only 31 hotels nationwide (including one other in Tuscany)
deserving the value for money Oscar. A new way of conceiving and
offering hospitality has been rewarded: friendly and relaxed welcome,
discretion, quality services, respect for the environment and personalized
tourist itineraries. All set in one of the most beautiful corners
of Tuscany.
The hotel has nineteen rooms, with names taken from nature and is
set in a luxuriant natural environment, full of colour, sounds and
scents, with abundant flora and fauna, overlooking a breathtakingly
crystalline sea. Its cuisine and wine list are strictly linked to
local tradition and it offers sea and land sports to suit all tastes.
This quality and price Oscar is a double recognition for Maurizio
Testa, owner of the Hotel Ilio, which, as in 2003, is the only hotel
on Elba to be given the typical purple heart awarded to charming
small
Italian hotels.
This is a real boost for the Island and the whole of Tuscany.
